Author Dori Bannister has a unique gift of combining real-life circumstances with scripture. Her down-to-earth style, combined with personal insight and impactful stories, will bring healing and encouragement to your soul.
Dori spent the early part of her life desperately wanting to be loved, to belong, and to matter. In her attempt she just about destroyed herself, when she realized that nothing could satisfy her deep needs, she went on a search to know God. She wanted to know the truth, and in wanting to know the truth, she found the truth – Jesus.
She has ministered to a wide variety of people, which includes abused women, abandoned children and drug addicts. With her passion for outreach, she ran a food bank and two recovery homes while serving as chaplain for the hospital and the sheriff’s department, she specialized in both grief and crisis counseling.
Along with her husband Bruce, she founded and pastored a church in San Benito County for 22 years. She continues to reach hearts through pastoring, teaching and counselling. She also loves mentoring young women and speaking at conferences, retreats and churches.
When she’s not reading a good book, Dori enjoys time with her grandkids and playing pickleball with friends.
